Hughes Brothers Construction is now hiring! We are a heavy civil contractor specializing in large site infrastructure, underground utilities and roadway construction throughout Central Florida. The HR & Onboarding Assistant will provide pivotal administrative support to the HR department to ensure efficient operation of day-to-day tasks including new hire onboarding procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general clerical duties, including data entry, photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, take messages and relay accurate information to the appropriate parties.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Greet incoming visitors, applicants and employees, answering any basic HR-related questions.
- Perform tasks associated with applications and new hire orientations including, but not limited to, sending applications to interested parties, contact all new hires with orientation details, conduct new hire orientations from start to finish, and manage new hire paperwork.
- Assist with HR programs such as the Milestone Anniversary program, Employee Recognition Program and employee birthdays.
- Manage all HBC gear and HBC gear orders.
- Assist members of management in HR and other departments as necessary with projects.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Prior experience as an administrative and/or HR assistant is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to practice discretion and maintain confidential information
