Vehicle Maintenance Tech

Hughes Brothers Construction is now hiring! We are a heavy civil contractor specializing in large site infrastructure, underground utilities and roadway construction throughout Central Florida. The Vehicle Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on company vehicles. This position supports the safe and efficient operation of the company’s fleet by ensuring vehicles are maintained in accordance with company standards and proper safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements, keeping company fleet operational, clean and safe.
  • Perform inspections and exercise proper judgement in resolving issues and making repairs.
  • Operate a variety of power tools safely and effectively.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate workflow with crew, foremen, superintendent and dispatchers.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels of tools, parts, fluids, and supplies.
  • Support other shop and fleet maintenance activities as needed.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Work in an outdoor setting which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift to 40 pounds
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Basic understanding of vehicle inspection and maintenance
  • Knowledge of small engine repairs is a plus
  • Schedule flexibility and the ability to report to the Shop in Wildwood
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
