Hughes Brothers Construction is now hiring! We are a heavy civil contractor specializing in large site infrastructure, underground utilities and roadway construction throughout Central Florida. The Small Engine Tech is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a variety of small engines and related equipment. The technician ensures equipment is operating safely and efficiently and tracks all necessary repairs and preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose and troubleshoot small engines and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on small engines and related equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate service records of inspections, repairs and maintenance performed.
- Operate hand tools, diagnostic equipment and specialized machinery for repairs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members and equipment operators regarding repairs and equipment conditions.
- Keep work area clean, organized and safe.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 2 years’ experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift to 40 pounds
- Knowledge of small engine repairs
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to repair power tools such as jumping jacks, saws, blowers, etc
- Ability to repair 2 cycle and 4 cycle engines
- Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
