Purchasing Agent
Purchasing Agent:
A purchasing agent for HBC would be responsible for procuring materials and services for construction projects. The duties include but are not limited to:
· Full Cycle Purchase Order issuing – within the office and the Field
· Purchasing: Buying materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
· Reviewing: Reviewing plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure the correct items are purchased
· Collaborating: Collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure timely delivery of materials
· Maintaining relationships: Establishing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and vendors
· Researching: Attending trade shows to research current product and service information
· Resolving disputes: Researching and resolving vendor disputes, including product or pricing issues
· Communicating: Communicating product changes to sales, construction, and subcontractors
Purchasing agents consider price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support when choosing suppliers and merchandise. They play a vital role in ensuring the profitability of business contracts by purchasing the most cost-effective materials for each job. This candidate would work closely with our Field Employees as well as our Project Managers.
